We have been avid users of Wacom tablets since about 1996. Every new incarnation has brought about new features. Today our favorite is the Intuos3 6x11 wide format tablet. It is geared to today’s wide format monitors, and using anything else, even other Wacom
tablets, is a lesson in frustration. The programmable buttons on both the right and left, 6 in all, can be programed for keystrokes, opening of software, and a host of other functions. We have all of ours set to open our most often used software programs. The scroll bar which sits next to the programmable buttons is also adjustable. One of the best things about Wacom is the fact that they are all pressure sensitive. This makes it work similar to a paint brush, when you give light
pressure you get a smaller stroke, no matter what size brush you have dialed into Photoshop. Harder pressure gives up to the full size brush. Anyone who uses Photoshop and does not use a Wacom tablet is just working far too hard and far more inefficiently. IF you are using a wide screen monitor but don’t have your Wacom 6x11 tablet yet, it is way past time to do so. |
