NOTE: We have added more new monitors to our offices ... a ViewSonic 26”, and an Acer 20”. We love them all. At one point we had the 26” in one of our editor’s office who is blind in one eye. He now has the Acer 20” because when you have vision in only one eye, the wide screen is not as beneficial in the larger sizes. All of these monitors are wonderful for the photographic work which occupies much of our production time. Don’t Wait ... evaluate your space available, then get a new flat wide screen. Your production will increase, and the strain on your eyes will decrease.

332h_largeThe Olevia 332H Widescreen Monitor/HDTV
By Bill Richey
Oh, we’ve died and gone to heaven. Must be because we just added the Olevia 332H Widescreen Monitor/HDTV as our main monitor.
To tell the truth, the fact that it was also a television was just a bonus. We went shopping at Staples one day and saw a great 23” monitor/TV that they only wanted $479 for. We went to buy it, but they wanted $130 for the two year extended warranty.
CompUSA (who is now out of business-we now use Best Buy for most electronic purchases) had a better deal on warranties, so we trekked down there checking out their monitors. That is where we saw the Olevia 32”. Beautiful, sharp picture, and it was on sale for $589. With the extended warranty the total came to only $629, just a few dollars more than Staples for a much smaller monitor.
The 332 is a 32” monitor, with built in speakers, of course, seeing as how it is also a high definition television.
In our current office we have no television service, however that may change soon.
We cannot recommend this monitor enough for those who are moving to the flat panels.
We have had 21” CRTs since 1995, and they have performed impecably. However, with this switch, we are jumping into the 21st century with the finest addition to our business equipment.
The key to making good equipment purchases is to shop around. The extended warranties have always paid off for us, especially in printers, so they are a highly recommended item as well.
