COMING SOON! RIP SOFTWARE FOR LARGE FORMAT PRINTERS

THE NEW CANON IPF5000 17Printer!

You have got to have this printer if you are doing any giclees and other fine art printing, as well as the gamut of photography ... portraits, landscapes, prodcanon5000uct and the rest. This printer is incredible in its quality of print, speed and economical use of ink and paper. The roll feeder takes most any kind of paper available in 17” or smaller, and the tray will hold up to 22x17” paper, about 100 sheets. We put in plain paper for proofing, but other papers are suitable as well, nothing too heavy.
The diagnostics and status monitor work very well, however, when it says you are out of ink, you cannot keep printing, no matter how you try to go around it.
It has a 12 color pigment ink system- 130ml -Lucia ink cartridges featuring Red, Blue, Green, Gray, Photo Gray, Cyan, Photo Cyan, Magenta, Photo Magenta, Yellow, Regular Black, and Matte Black. The large color gamut provided by the 12 inks produces brilliant colors. The addition of gray and photo gray enables smooth gradations and less graininess, creating a crisp monotone output.
A HUGE CAUTION ... Once you get this printer, if you want to offer ANYTHING larger than the 17” width ... you’re hooked! You have got to get one of the larger Canons, we are going to add the 44’ IPF8000. The quality is just so awesome, your creative juices are going to overflow and you’ll want to be printing everything in big, beautiful prints. The starter cartridges lasted us through one 40’ x 17” fine art roll, one 50’ roll of Lexjet’s E-satin, and a 40’ roll of canvas. By the way, as a supplier, Lexjet is the best

C5500n_AROkiData 5500 Color Laser Printer
The OkiData we reviewed previously, the 5150, printed at about 12 color pages per minute. That’s ok, but this new 5500 flys at 20 per minute, with exceptional quality. The new version also uses different drums and cartridges, so if you are upgrading, your current inventory of these consumables should be used up.
The main limitation this printer has is that it only prints up to 8.5 x 14” or banners up to 47” long. The cartridges run from $75 - $100 each for color (cmy) and about $75 for the black ones. This makes utilizing the 5500 for your black output economical and efficient (running at 24 ppm black, 12 color).
One thing to consider is the replacement of drums, which go out at about 10,000 copies. A full set will run you about $400, which is a major consideration. With the printer running at only $600, it seems a rip off to charge over $100 each for drums, but all of the manufacturers do that.
At only $599.99 suggested retail, it is an affordable printer with superior quality.

COMING SOON! CANON PIXMA PRO 9500 ... We have it and are running it through its paces now. be watching for more!

Canon Pixma 9000 Pro Color Inkjet Printer
It is a photographer’s dream,pro9000_586x227 not nightmare. This printer works extremely well, running virtually any media through, straight, and registered in exactly the same spot, copy after copy. We had a Canon IP9900 for our 13x19” jobs prior to this, and it was a great printer as well. Fleshtones were a problem, with a strong cyan cast in comparison to our Epson R340. The Epson is always right on with flesh tones, but the old Canon had to have major color adjustments in order to get the right colors. The new 9000 has solved that color cast problem.
Canvas, watercolor paper, premium photo paper as well as 20 lb. bond all run through with exceptional quality print. A large 13x19 from our Fuji S9000 digital camera shows no appreciable grain. What with the superior quality of the camera, matched with the Canon 9000 Pro, your output is both predictable in color from print to print as well as incredibly sharp. You can’t go wrong with the Canon 9000 Pro
It holds eight ink cartridges, using the standard cmyk, as well as the photo cyan and photo magenta. They went one step further and added a solid green and solid red. Note, the cmy and photo cyan and magenta cartridges run out far quicker than the green and red. They seem to run about 5-1 ratio. The good news is the cartridges are inexpensive, running from $11 to $15, depending upon where you buy. The printer runs at $499.99 suggested list price. It is using the new Canon inks with a 100 year lifespan which makes it a good choice for professional work.

IMPORTANT NOTE! CANON AS A 64 BIT VISTA DRIVER FOR THE PRO 9000.
